Overview
The Blessed Hammer Paladin is one of the strongest S-Tier levelling builds in Diablo 4 Season 13. You throw spiralling holy hammers that orbit your character while maintaining near-permanent Arbiter Form through a rotation of Disciple cooldown skills. The result is a build that feels godlike from the very first levels and only gets stronger as you invest skill points.
The core loop: use Falling Star to dive in and trigger Arbiter Form, spam Blessed Hammer while hammers spiral out across the pack, chain Condemn to re-trigger Arbiter Form before it drops. With the Disciple Oath, each Disciple cooldown cast grants 4.5 seconds of Arbiter Form — back-to-back casts maintain the form continuously. Your entire skill bar is loaded with Disciple cooldown skills, so 100% Arbiter Form uptime is achievable from the mid-game onward.
Strengths
- Massive AoE from spiralling Blessed Hammers
- Near-100% Arbiter Form uptime = permanent 50% damage amp
- Very high mobility via Falling Star charges
- Resolve stacks provide excellent passive damage reduction
- Extremely strong from level 1 through WT4
- Light's Epiphany set enables devastating 5-piece burst window
Weaknesses
- Hammers require positioning — spread packs reduce AoE coverage
- Relies on cooldown management — dropping Arbiter Form costs DPS
- Runewords and Talisman needed for full power
- Somewhat dependent on Legendary Aspects for endgame
Paladin Class Mechanic – Oaths
Paladins choose one of four Oaths at the start of their journey. Each Oath fundamentally changes your gameplay and resource access. For the Blessed Hammer build, take the Disciple Oath.
Whenever you cast a Disciple skill with a cooldown, you enter Arbiter Form for 4.5 seconds. In Arbiter Form, your Wing Strikes gain Disciple Skill benefits and your Disciple Skills deal 50% increased damage. Since your skill bar is loaded with Disciple cooldown skills, you can maintain this form nearly 100% of combat time.

Legendary Aspects
Imprint these aspects onto the appropriate gear slots via the Occultist. During levelling, slot priority matters less — use what you find. Aim for these ideal placements by mid-game.
Stat Priority & Tempering
Tempering is only possible once you have found the relevant Tempering Manuals while levelling. Focus on the affixes below in priority order for each slot.

Gems & Runewords
Gems
Runewords
Place one Ritual Rune and one Invocation Rune into a two-socket item (helm, chest, pants, or 2H weapon) to create a Runeword. Ritual Runes generate Offering; Invocation Runes trigger when the threshold is met.
| Rune | Type | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Moni | Ritual | Gain 100 Offering: Cast 2 Mobility or Macabre Skills |
| Gar | Invocation | Requires 25 Offering (Overflow): Gain 2% Critical Strike Chance for 5 seconds, up to 10% |
| Cir | Ritual | Gain 300 Offering: Cast 5 Skills then become exhausted for 3 seconds |
| Thul | Invocation | Invoke Frost Nova to inflict Freeze and Vulnerable |
Talisman & Charms
The Talisman system is a feature from the Lord of Hatred expansion. A Legendary Seal holds up to 5 Charms (6 with the +1 Charm Slot affix). The 5-piece Light's Epiphany charm set is mandatory for this build.
Light's Epiphany – 5-Piece Charm Set
6th Charm Slot – Unique Charm
Fill the 6th slot with a Unique Charm carrying Griswold's Opus power. This grants you the sword's powerful bonus without equipping the weapon itself, freeing your weapon slot for better Aspects and affixes.
Mercenaries
Mercenaries are unlocked during the Vessel of Hatred campaign. Hire your primary companion and designate a second as a Reinforcement who jumps in when you use specific skills.
Rotation & Playstyle
The playstyle is dynamic and fluid. Your primary goal is to maintain Arbiter Form 100% of combat time by chaining Disciple cooldown casts, while Blessed Hammer spirals out and destroys everything in range.
Quick Tips & Reference
A condensed reference covering Resolve, Season 13 features, and key mechanics for the Blessed Hammer Paladin.
Resolve — Damage Reduction System
Each Resolve stack provides a flat 20% damage reduction regardless of hit size. Getting struck by any enemy removes one stack. Default maximum is 8 stacks. With Glynn's Anvil Aspect (+2) and Helm/Chest tempering (+2–3 each), you can push maximum Resolve to 14+ stacks — providing enormous sustained damage reduction.
